Removing
the front panel assembly
To remove the
front panel assembly:
- Turn off
the HMC and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords.
- Unlock and
remove the side cover. (Refer to Removing
and Replacing the Cover.)
- Remove the
lower bezel. (Refer to Removing
and Replacing the Lower Bezel.)
- Remove the
upper bezel. (Refer to Removing
and Replacing the Upper Bezel.)
- Slide the
drives in bay 1 and bay 2 forward slightly .(Refer to Removing
and Replacing a CD or DVD Drive.) It is not necessary
to remove these drives.
- If the HMC
has hot-swap power supplies, remove the power supplies and the
power-supply cage. (Refer to Removing
and Replacing the Hot-swap Power Supply Cage.)
- Disconnect
the front-panel assembly cable from the system board, noting the
routing of the cable. (Refer to Model
7042-C06 HMC Features - System-board Internal Connectors
for the location of the front-panel connector.)
- Press up
on the release tab of the front-panel assembly and pull the assembly
toward the rear of the HMC. Then, remove the front-panel assembly
from the chassis.
- If you are
instructed to return the front-panel assembly, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials supplied to you
for shipping.
