You can integrate IBM® Content Navigator features, like searching, browsing, and checking documents in and out of the repository, with Microsoft Office applications by using IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office.

supported for IBM FileNet® Content Manager and IBM Content
Manager only.
When IBM Content
Navigator for Microsoft Office is
installed on IBM Content
Navigator client
workstations, users can access IBM Content
Navigator features from the IBM
ECM menu in the following applications:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Word

Depending on the features that are available on the desktop that
you connect to, you can:
- Access entry templates
The list of recently used entry templates shows
the four entry templates that you used most recently. The list is
cleared when you restart the Microsoft Office
application.
- Access your list of favorites
- Access your teamspaces
You can access teamspaces in IBM Content
Navigator for Microsoft Office, but you cannot create teamspaces
or modify teamspace template definitions. Teamspaces and teamspace
template definitions must be created in the web client. The list of
recently used teamspaces shows the four teamspaces that you used most
recently. The list is cleared when you restart the Microsoft Office application.
- Browse for content
- Check documents in and out of the repository
- Edit the properties and security of documents
- Launch and process workflows
- You can start and process Microsoft Office documents in workflows
from IBM Content
Navigator for Microsoft Office. You cannot
start or process other types of workflows from this integration.
- Search for content
- You can search a class in a repository or multiple
classes. You cannot search across multiple repositories.
