Load overview
The load utility is capable of efficiently
moving large quantities of data into newly created tables, or into
tables that already contain data. The load utility is faster than the import
utility, because it writes formatted pages directly into the database,
while the import utility performs SQL INSERTs.
Privileges and authorities required to use load
Privileges enable users to create or access database resources.
Authority levels provide a method of grouping privileges and higher-level
database manager maintenance and utility operations. Together, these
act to control access to the database manager and its database objects.
Users can access only those objects for which they have the appropriate
authorization; that is, the required privilege or authority.

Load overview-partitioned database environments
In a multi-partition database, large amounts of data are
located across many database partitions. Distribution keys are used
to determine on which database partition each portion of the data
resides. The data must be distributed before it can be loaded
at the correct database partition.
