DB2 Version 10.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

New monitoring routine provides insight into group buffer pool usage

The new MON_GET_GROUP_BUFFERPOOL table function provides information that can help you determine whether the configured size for the group buffer pool (GBP) in a DB2® pureScale® environment is properly sized.

If the GBP does not have sufficient space when attempting to register a page or write a page to the GBP, a GBP_FULL error occurs. You can use the MON_GET_GROUP_BUFFERPOOL table function to report the number of times that the GBP_FULL error occurs for a specific member, the currently connected member, or all members in the DB2 pureScale environment. If the value for GBP_FULL increases over a period of time, you may need to increase the size of the GBP.
