Start of changeIMS Explorer for Development is made available through an Eclipse-based integration platform, IBM Explorer for z/OS® Aqua. You can install multiple versions of IMS Explorer in different directories. Having more than one version of IMS Explorer on the same Windows system might be necessary for compatibility issues. For example, you might have different versions of the IMS mobile feature in development and in production, and the new version of the feature might require a newer version of IMS Explorer that is not compatible with the older version. Keeping the old version of IMS Explorer might be required.

  1. Go to Mainframe development tools download page at https://developer.ibm.com/mainframe/products/downloads/.
This page lists all products that are installed through the Aqua composite repository. You can find IBM IMS Explorer for Development from the list of products.
  2. Start of change Click Eclipse Tools in the IBM Explorer for z/OS Aqua box, and follow the Installation Manager path on the page to install.
Important: IMS Explorer does not support Eclipse p2 installation. You must follow the path for IBM Installation Manager (IBM IM) and Aqua 3.0 (Eclipse Luna V4.4) for installation.
