APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Installing GPFS with BigInsights may fail at gpfs-callbacks:
    unable to add all callbacks.
    

Local fix

  • Looks like an internal script which gets invoked during the
    installation for collecting hostname for snmp callback has an
    issue
    (defect).
    Attached file is a temporary fix  you can use in customer's
    environment
    which will let you bypass the issue.
    How to apply the fix:
    1. Make sure the installer is not running
    2. Copy the file to the following directory:
     $INSTALL_IMAGE/installer/hdm/components/gpfs/binary
    3. Run the installer, and perform the installation
    
    Contact IBM support to get the new file.
    
    
    Before re-running the install (with the fix)  clean up the
    system by running:
    
    installer/hdm/bin/gpfs-delete_clusterfs.sh -u 2
    
    This is found under the install image top dir (where the
    installer was run)
    
    WARNING
    This will cleanup everything (Cluster/GPFS filesystem/ RPMS) so
    please be aware of this prior to doing so. Do not run
    installer/hdm/bin/gpfs-delete_clusterfs.sh -u 2 if you do not
    want everything cleared.
