IV90054: PURE EVENTS GET TRUNCATED DURING RPC TRANSMISSION

APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• During RPC transmission of pure situation data from the agent
  to the TEMS, the last row of data gets truncated and is not
  sent.
  The following error is logged in the RAS1 trace file
  (57AAB643.19C1-D88:kraaamss.cpp,413,"groupDataRowsToBuffer")
  *A-INFO: KNT.NTEVTLOG.yqsun_test_event saved situation data
  rows exceed RPC transport limit, truncated!
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The maximum size of the buffer used to upload row data from
  Situations is 4096 bytes.  If the Situation data retrieve
  is equal to or exceeds this byte count, then the last row(s) of
  data are truncated and the message
  
  situation data rows exceed RPC transport limit, truncated!
  
  can be found in the Agent log and missing from the Warehouse
  Database.
  

Problem conclusion

• Revise the processing involved in buffer management such that
  the last row that fits into the buffer is uploaded.
  

Temporary fix

• Provisional Fix IV40015 and IJ07905 resolve this issue. These
  APAR fixes are available upon receipt of a Provisional Fix
  request.
