Error description

  • When the GUI is generating a scheduled create transfer the
    interval should be minutes but it is passing the value of
     "..."

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The GUI incorrectly submits transfer requests with the
    translated form of the repeat interval type. The agent will only
    accept these submissions in English form.

    Scheduled transfers submitted from a non-English system with a
    selection repetition interval would never appearing in the
    'Pending Transfers' view and the transfer would never take
    place. A failure message will have been published to the audit
    log indicating that the transfer request was malformed, with an
    additional supplement indicating that a valid repeat interval of
    minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years should be used.
    This indicates that an unexpected (non-English) value has been
    found in the command XML for repetition interval. To further
    confirm that this problem is being exhibited, agent trace can be
    enabled (see
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqfte/v7r0/index.jsp?t
    opic=/com.ibm.wmqfte.home.doc/help_home_wmqfte.htm) and the
    scheduled transfer request submitted. The agent trace would then
    contain similar output to the follow sample for the request
    message:

    <schedule>
      <submit timebase="admin"
    timezone="Asia/Tokyo">2009-01-09T14:00</submit>
      <repeat>
        <frequency interval="...">1</frequency>
        <expireCount>1</expireCount>
      </repeat>
    </schedule>

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users on translated (non-English) locale attempting to
    schedule a repeating transfer with a repeat interval type (e.g.,
    seconds, minutes, hours).

    PLATFORMS AFFECTED:
    All

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is for the GUI to only use translated strings to display
    the repeat interval type. It correctly maps these to their
    English counterparts before submitting the transfer.
