Troubleshooting
Problem
Sybase® SQL Anywhere® does not work with IBM® Rational® TestManager, unless the set up for this purpose is correct. This technote goes through the basic steps of a typical configuration. You configure SQL Anywhere in Sybase Central™.
Resolving The Problem
This is what you need to do.
- Install SQL Anywhere
- Create and run the service on the machine, that stores the projects.
a. Go to Start > Programs > Sybase SQL Anywhere Server > Sybase Central.
b. Right Click on Sybase SQL Anywhere in the left pane of the Sybase Central window.
c. Select the Services folder in the left treeview.
d. Double-click on Add Service.
e. Give the service a name.
f. Select Network Database Server.
g. Keep the default executable.
h. Use parameters
-n <name_of_service_from_step_e> -gd all
(for more information on the above parameters see Technote 1168748)
i. On the following screens click: Next > Next > Finish.
j. In Sybase Central, right-click on the service, and select Start. You can also do this from the services list of the operating system. Consider to set this new service to start automatically.
- Create a project from Rational Administrator and provide the Service Name from step 2e in the field Server Name.
