FAQ:How to add a netmap entry to CONNECT:Direct UNIX? (SCI24291)

Answer

For TCP connections:
1. Make a copy of you current netmap.cfg.
2. vi your netmap.cfg.
3. Copy the netmap entry for your node, then paste it to your netmap.
EXAMPLE:
MY_NodeName:\
:conn.retry.stwait=00.00.30:\
:conn.retry.stattempts=3:\
:conn.retry.ltwait=00.10.00:\
:conn.retry.ltattempts=6:\
:tcp.max.time.to.wait=0:\
:runstep.max.time.to.wait=0:\
:contact.name=:\
:contact.phone=:\
:descrip=:\
:sess.total=255:\
:sess.pnode.max=255:\
:sess.snode.max=2:\
:sess.default=1:\
:comm.info=911.911.911.911;2001:\
:comm.transport=tcp:\
:comm.bufsize=4096:\
:pacing.send.delay=0:\
:pacing.send.count=0:
4. Change the nodename to the new nodename.
5. Change the comm.info to the new nodename's ipaddress and port#.

For SNA connections:
1. Make a copy of your current netmap.cfg.
2. vi your netmap.cfg.
3. Copy the SNA netmap entry that was created during the install, then paste it
to your netmap.
EXAMPLE:
MY_NodeName:\
:conn.retry.stwait=00.00.30:\
:conn.retry.stattempts=3:\
:conn.retry.ltwait=00.10.00:\
:conn.retry.ltattempts=6:\
:tcp.max.time.to.wait=0:\
:runstep.max.time.to.wait=0:\
:contact.name=:\
:contact.phone=:\
:descrip=:\
:sess.total=255:\
:sess.pnode.max=255:\
:sess.snode.max=2:\
:sess.default=1:\
:comm.info=hostl1:\
:comm.transport=lu62:\
:comm.bufsize=4096:
4. Change the nodename to the new nodename.
5. Change the comm.info to hostl#.
6. Save your netmap.cfg.
7. Make a copy of your current initparm.cfg.
8. vi your initparm.cfg, then go the rnode.listen section at the bottom of the
file and copy the sna rnode.listen entry, then paste it to the netmap.
9. Change the recid to some unique name and change the comm.info to hostl#,make
it's the name hostl# that you have in your netmap.cfg file.
EXAMPLE:
rnode.listen:\
:recid=llu62_1:\
:comm.info=hostl1:\
:comm.transport=lu62:
10.Save initparm.cfg.
11.Bring the server down, then back up.
