Can I upgrade WebSphere Application Server V6.1.0.x to 7.0.x if I already have a WebSphere Portal 6.1.x instance installed?


Yes, this is supported with the following software maintenance levels:

    • WebSphere Application Server V7.0.0.11 or higher
and either of the following:
    • WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.4/ with the fix installed for APAR PM25140 on
    • WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.5/ with the fix installed for APAR PM25140 on
This is not supported with WebSphere Portal V6.1.5.0, or below, and not with any previous fix pack levels of the Application Server.
