SPSS Statistics is throwing Error 1330 on installation

Technote (troubleshooting)


You are trying to install IBM SPSS Statistics on your workstation. You have the actual shipped CD/DVD, at your machine, and at some point after the installation proper begins, you receive the following message:

Error Message:
Error 1330. A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file F:/SPSS Statistics/ has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt Error 24592 was returned by WinVerify Trust

You have Windows XP, but you may have also tried it on Windows Vista or 7 to the same result. You also tried burning a copy of the CD/DVD -- you were able to copy the CD/DVD successfully, but attempting to install from the burned copy gave the same result.

Resolving the problem

NOTE: If you are receiving any 1330 error on installation of SPSS Statistics for Windows Student Version or Integrated Student Version (only) v17 or v18, please open a Service Request with IBM SPSS Technical Support. For all non-Student Version issues with 1330, you may need to do the same, but please continue below first:

A possible workaround that has been successful for some users is to browse the CD/DVD and copy the \SPSS Statistics installation folder from the CD/DVD to the desktop. Then open the copied folder and run setup.exe. (If you are running on Vista or Windows 7 you must right click on the setup.exe and select Run as Administrator).

If that fails as well, please go here and open a Service Request with IBM SPSS Technical Support.
