ClearCase Source Code Control API integration "disappears" on full ClearCase client after installing CCRC
This technote describes an issue that can occur after installing IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) 7.1.1.x on a host with Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2005 and the full ClearCase 7.1.1.x client installed, where the Microsoft Source Code Control (SCC) ClearCase integration effectively "disappears" from the menus, leaving only the VSIP integration.
This behavior is intentional. CCRC does not provide a source code control (SCC) based integration with any third party products. CCRC only provides a Visual Studio Industry Partner (VSIP) integration to Visual Studio.
Since CCRC does not provide an SCC integration, CCRC disables the older integration interface to avoid confusion that can occur if an attempt is made to use a preexisting SCC integration in a CCRC view,
Resolving the problem
This solution contains information about modifying the system registry. Before making any modifications to the Microsoft Registry Editor, it is strongly recommended that you make a backup of the existing registry. For more information describing how to back up the registry, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base article 256986
If you need to re-enable SCC integrations, you can do so by deleting the following registry value:
Note: Modifying the registry key is only recommended as a temporary option to migrate project settings to use the newer VSIP integration.
