An integration to the Cognos Reporting Products will be introduced in the Maximo Base Services 220.127.116.11 Release.
Beginning with the Maximo Base Services 18.104.22.168 Release, and integration to the Cognos Reporting Products will be introduced. This integration will extend Maximo's Open Reporting Architecture to include Cognos's Powerful Reporting Products, which enable a deeper level of analytical reporting.
Key to this integration is its functionality to automatically enable the creation of a meta data layer. The meta data layer is used by developers to Create Enterprise or Ad Hoc Reports in Cognos - instead of the traditional method used by many reporting tools in using sql statements. The meta data layer consists of prejoined tables so developers can quickly and consistently develop reports.
To enable the meta data layer in the Maximo Cognos Integration, Cognos packages will be based on Maximo Applications, like Assets, Work Order or Job Plans. These packages are created from within the Maximo Object Structure Application and published to Cognos.
By utilizing Maximo's Object Structure Application, client's object customizations can be quickly incorporated, and setup time is significantly reduced in defining object relationships.
This integration is enabled in English only for this initial release.
