Ad Hoc Reporting (QBR) Public Security Access

News

Abstract

Ad Hoc or Query Based Reporting (QBR) empowers users to create their own reports to meet their individual project or business needs. In Maximo Base Services 7.1.1.6, this functionality has been extended to enable users to grant 'Public' Security Access on their individually created reports to others.

Ad Hoc or QBR Reporting enables users to quickly create their own individual reports without needing others to design, develop, test and maintain their reports. However, prior to this new release, if a user wanted to share his individual Ad Hoc Report with others, he would have to contact the Report Administrator to grant security rights to others. This involved extra, time consuming steps.

Now, in Maximo Base Services 7.1.1.6, the user is empowered to share his individual Ad Hoc Report with others by selecting a new 'Public' Field. This new field is based on the existing 'Public' field used to grant others access to Queries. Additionally, security is enabled on this field, so a client can determine which security groups should have access to granting 'Public' Security Access.

Additional details on this feature can be found in the 'V7 QBR Ad Hoc Reporting' Quick Start Guide located here
