  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • According to the logs the team who worked on the compute node
put the blade in maintenance mode using the Flex System Manager
(FSM) user interface instead of using the PureApplication
    system console.

Putting a blade into maintenance mode using the PureApplication
system console causes all the virtual machines (VM) to evacuate
and preserves the correct state for each VM.

Local fix

  • User will need to manually restart the virtual machines after
they are migrated to the other compute nodes.

Problem summary

  • The compute node state was changed to maintenance without using
the PureApplication system user interface. Because of this the
desired state for virtual machines being migrated was not saved
    correctly.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is being provided so that the virtual machine states are
saved correctly in cases where the compute node state change was
not initiated by the PureApplication System software.

Temporary fix
