APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer found he could not expand the memory size of a virtual
    machine instance larger than 4 times of its original size
    through the Workload Console even if the AIX VM is currently
    stopped.
    

Local fix

  • The following REST API can be used to expand the memory size to
    the size larger than 4 times of original memory size.
    
    PUT https://<IP>/deployment/resources/instances/<VM id>
    {

    }
    

Problem summary

  • The resource management code was not passing the correct values
    down to the virtual machine.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The virtual machine (VM) resource management code has been
    updated to check for the current VM  status and pass down the
    correct parameters.
