Why are Flash URLs not being found when Flash Execution is enabled in IBM Rational AppScan Standard?
AppScan's Flash Browser looks like a browser with no plug-ins, by default. Some sites use scripts that detect the Flash Plug-ins, and when they are not found, a JPG file is returned instead of the Flash File.
You need to have AppScan's Flash Browser mimic Mozilla's browser so that the scripts detect the Flash Plug-ins, which will display the Flash Files.
Use these steps to configure AppScan to mimic Mozilla's functionality:
- Close the AppScan process
- Open the AppScan install folder, which by default is C:\program files\IBM\Rational AppScan
- Open DefaultOptions.xml in Notepad
- Look for <option enum="ebCOTMimicMozilla" and set the value to True
