APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During system test of a disaster and recovery configuration both
systems were upgraded at the same time. Each upgrade put the
system into maintenance mode which is a blocking job.

The primary system can then not communicate with the backup
system to complete required processes.

Local fix

  • Do not upgrade both systems at the same time.

Problem summary

  • A copy operation from the primary to the backup was being
blocked because both systems were being upgraded and in
maintenance mode simultaneously.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been updated so that the job that was being blocked
from executing does not execute when the systems are in
maintenance mode.
