APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Unused snapshots for deployed virtual systems are being left on
the Storwize v7000 storage for IBM PureApplication System W1700
power systems. The snapshots can fill up the storage space and
prevent deployment operations.

Local fix

  • We can maunally clean up unused snapshots from the system to be
a workaround.

Problem summary

  • Unused snapshots are not being removed from the storage and
preventing virtual system operations from completing.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been added to detect unused snapshots and remove them.
