Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the explain table * * DSN_PTASK_TABLE. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Discontinue support of DSN_PTASK_TABLE * * having column names that contain a * * variant EBCDIC character. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The DSN_PTASK_TABLE explain table is used to record parallel task activity in DB2 for z/OS. The original format for PK65772 included four columns with names containing the hashmark symbol (#), which is located at code point x'7B' in CCSID 37 but at a different code point in various other CCSIDs. To ensure a consistent format for DSN_PTASK_TABLE regardless of the code page, a previous APAR, PK65772, introduced new names for the affected columns: Old name -> New name -------- -------- LPTLOPG# -> LPTLOPG LPTHIPG# -> LPTHIPG LPTLOPT# -> LPTLOPT LPTHIPT# -> LPTHIPT PK65772 also deprecated use of DSN_PTASK_TABLEs that have the old column names, and provided guidance for migrating existing DSN_PTASK_TABLEs to the new format. This APAR eliminates support for DSN_PTASK_TABLEs in the old format. Only the revised column names in DSN_PTASK_TABLE will be accepted. If an old format DSN_PTASK_TABLE is used, DB2 will ignore it and no rows will be inserted. Please refer to the DSN_PTASK_TABLE section in PK65772 recommendations for additional information.
Problem conclusion
Only the revised column names in DSN_PTASK_TABLE are accepted by DB2. Do not apply the fix for this APAR before you have previously applied the fix for PK65772 (UK42083 for V8 and UK42084 for V9) and migrated existing DSN_PTASK_TABLEs to the new format. In DB2 data sharing, do not apply the fix for this APAR before you have applied the fix for PK65772 to all members of the group and migrated existing DSN_PTASK_TABLEs to the new format.
