Error description

  • An extended image failed to deploy because the original image
had been deleted. The errors in the logs
are:
app.scripts.groovy.rainmaker.instances.stages.
     DeleteStage2BackendDelete.groovy
   run Starting to delete virtual machine ODR Node 1 from
     virtual xxxx
   at org.codehaus.groovy.reflection.CachedMethod.
     invoke(CachedMethod.java:88)
app.scripts.groovy.rainmaker.core.SQLUtils.groovy
   inTransaction java.lang.NullPointerException

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • When an image is extended and captured there are references to
both the parent image and the new extended image identifiers in
the system database. There was some code checking for the wrong
image identifier during the delete operation.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code has been updated to reference the correct image
identifier.
