Error description

  • Catalog status in DFSMS RMM displays as UNKNOWN for second
and subsequent volumes of a multi-volume tape archive log
data set as the file sequence number for the second (and
subsequent volumes) is set to 1. RMM expects the file sequence
number to be the same as the first volume of the data set,
    which is 2.

    ****************************************************************
Catalog status in DFSMS RMM displays as UNKNOWN for the second
volume of a multi-volume tape archive log dataset as the file
sequence number for the second volume is set to 1. RMM expects
the file sequence number to be the same as the first volume of
    the dataset, which is 2.

Problem conclusion

  • Multi-volume, cataloged, tape archive log data sets will now
be cataloged with FSEQN of 2 on the second volume of the
dataset, the same as for the first volume of the dataset, and
therefore RMM can now correctly manage the second tape volume.
