Error description

  • When a database does not have explain tables created, and the
user executes a visual explain from Data Studio, under the
covers the code was to make the explain tables automatically
and explain the input statement. However, a memory corruption
occurs during this process that causes an error with
SQLCODE=-1042 being reported by the visual explain tool.
If the -1042 error is encountered. One workaround would be to
manually create the explain tables on the database on the DB2
    LUW server manually using:
db2 -tvf ~/sqllib/misc/EXPLAIN.DDL. Then restarting the
    instance.
The user will get a SQLCODE -1042 returned by Visual explain
tool in data studio when using the DB2 LUW data server.
