Error description

  • Your WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition agent is participating
in a transfer in which a large number of concurrent
destination files are being transferred. Intermittently,
transfers fail with the following error, where XXX is the
    directory name:

BFGIO0007E: Unable to create directory XXX

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When multiple transfers occur concurrently and these transfers
attempt to create the same target directory, then an exception
can occur that causes the transfer to fail because it believes
it can not create the target directory.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue was caused by a timing window where more than one
transfer attempted to create the same target directory. When the
second transfer failed to create the target directory (because
the first transfer successfully created it) then it caused the
transfer to fail as it believe it did not have permission to
create the directory. This APAR solves the timing issue by
making sure that concurrent transfers can create the same target
    directory with no errors.
