Error description

  • FLASH command starts and then hangs in FLASHING state.
    To identify this problem, issue the <specific> DSCLI
    command and observe that the H1 and I2 volumes are both
    listed as Suspended Primaries. TPC-R will show
    Target Available for most of the role pairs of I2-J2
    and H1-J2 and few copyset was the pairs as restoring/
    recovering.

    When these copyset clicked for more details, TPC for
    Replication had already recovered and should have moved
    the pairs to Target Available status. FRR
    poller completed an event before marking the H1-J2 pairs
    to recovering. So the one copyset that
    is stuck in restoring status, and never gets updated to
    Target Available, so the event gets ignored.
    Afterwards, the H1-J2 pairs are updated to recovering.

Local fix

  • 1. Do db2 updates UPDATE REPMGR.PAIR SET STATE1 =
    'Target Available', PENDINGSTATE= '' WHERE
    SESSIONNAME = 'HQ_GLOBAL_MIRROR' AND SEQUENCENAME
    = 'H1-J2'

    UPDATE REPMGR.PAIR SET STATE1 = 'Target Available',
    PENDINGSTATE= '' WHERE
    SESSIONNAME = 'HQ_GLOBAL_MIRROR' AND SEQUENCENAME =
    'I2-J2'

    2. Issue "Refresh States" against the TPC-R session
