APAR status

Error description

  • Threads that are meant to send job requests are blocked by some
    ping jobs waiting for a response.
    

Local fix

  • Restart data server.
    

Problem summary

    *                 computers that are unreachable, such as      *
    *                 being behind a firewall, the system being    *
    *                 down, or any other reason.                   *

Problem conclusion

  • TPC Server waits forever a ping response which could be blocked
    by firewalls.
    
    The fix is to put a timeout limit to how long the server waits
    for a ping response.
    
    If the Agent computer does not respond to ping in the timeout
    interval then the Agent will be marked UNREACHABLE.
