Exception "java.lang.RuntimeException: No support for attachments" when using MIME attacments in SDK application

Troubleshooting


Problem

If an SDK application retrieves data using MIME attachments, the following exception is returned: AxisFault faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException faultSubcode: faultString: java.lang.RuntimeException: No support for attachments faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}stackTrace: java.lang.RuntimeException: No support for attachments at org.apache.axis.Message.setup(Message.java:336) at org.apache.axis.Message.(Message.java:234)

Resolving The Problem

Include mail.jar and activation.jar files in the classpath for the SDK application. These files are located in <cognos8_install>\webapps\p2pd\WEB-INF\lib.
