Error description

• Problem:
  Running a backup or query of Exchange 2010 servers with only
  public folders fail with "Operation could not be performed
  because object *\<servername> couldn't be found"
  This occurs only if the server being backed up has no mailbox
  databases, a condition that is allowable in Exchange 2010.
  Diagnostics:
  Event log shows a cmdlet error:
  Cmdlet failed. Cmdlet Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus, parameters
  {Server=MAIL03}
  Versions Affected:
  6.x
  Initial Impact:  Low
  

Local fix

• Create a dummy mailbox database on the server prior to backup

  Exchange cmdlet Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus fails on
  Exchange Server if there is no at least one mailbox database
  on the server.
  Data Protection for Exchange was changed to call
  Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus cmdlet for backup and query
  operations only if there is at least one mailbox database
  on an Exchange Server where Data Protection is running.
