The Create Virtual Server wizard does not allow the user to specify minimum and maximum values for processors and memory, nor the desired amount of shared processor.
o For shared processors, the desired value is set to one tenth of the specified virtual processors.
o Maximum memory is set to 1 GB more than specified in the wizard.
o Maximum shared or dedicated processor is set to the number specified + 10.
o Minimums are set to the minimum allowed for the partition/platform.
This is working as designed. A change to the default value for shared processor is being considered for a future release.
The System Configuration, Manage Virtual Server option is not available until the first activate. Users that wish to control these values must edit the profile prior to activation.
1. Ensure the View is set to All tasks, and then click Welcome.
2. On the Resources tab, right click the virtual server (partition), then click System Configuration , and then click Manage Profiles.
3. Click the DefaultProfile link to edit the profile.
4. Make the desired changes to the profile, then click OK .
