DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR 'SE27524' :

If an application using the iSeries Access for windows ODBC
driver attempts to turn autocommit off prior to making a
connection, the request is not honored.
If the connection string or data source specified an isolation
level other than *NONE, there will be a secondary problem: the
isolation level will not be sent correctly; it will be *NONE.
For example a connection is defined to use *CHG isolation level
and autocommit is set off before the connection is made. The
connection will be made with isolation level *NONE (this is how
autocommit was simulated in older OS/400 releases) and because
autocommit was not turned off, the isolation level will stay at
*NONE. Any subsequent inserts, updates or deletes cannot be
rolled back.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'SE27524' :
-------------------------------
This PTF fixes the reported problem

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR 'SE27524' :

Multi-threaded ODBC applications may experience hangs or
abnormal disconnect errors after applying SI25949 (R540). A
change in the driver allows multiple requests to be submitted
to the host server simultaneously, and the
driver does not correctly handle the responses.  Possible
symptoms include an application hang, or a CWBCO1047 (server
application disconnected the connection.)  In the case of the
latter, a communication trace will confirm that the connection
was actually ended by the client (ODBC).

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR 'SE28179' :

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 service pack 1 DTS Wizard is unable
to import data from System i5/OS DB2 using the IBM DB2 for
i5/OS IBMDASQL and IBMDA400 OLE DB Provider.

Also, data is not imported when "Write a query to specify the

In V5R4 service pack SI25949, new values *MYAPPDATA and

*ALLUSERSAPPDATA were added as possible values for the

/PC5250PATH parameter of cwbcfg.  However, these values could

not be used on the PC5250 tab of iSeries Access Properties,

where the PC5250 files path is normally set.  If used, they

would not resolve to the actual application data paths, and

errors may result when using PC5250 because it would search

for its files in invalid paths.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'SE28209' :
-------------------------------
This PTF fixes the reported problem.

The values *MYAPPDATA and *ALLUSERSAPPDATA may now be entered

in the User specified path field.  These cause the path that

PC5250 searches to be the user-specific application data

path, or the machine-wide (common) application data path,

respectively.  If you enter one of these values and click

Apply or OK, the next time you run iSeries Access for Windows

Properties and view the PC5250 tab, the User specified path

field will contain the fully-qualified application data path

that was earlier chosen.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR 'SE28209' :
