Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    The issue affects users of:

    - The WebSphere MQ V7.0 Explorer that has the WebSphere MQ
File Transfer Edition V7.0.4 plug-in installed.
    - The WebSphere MQ V7.1 Explorer that has the WebSphere MQ
File Transfer Edition V7.0.4 plug-in installed.
    - The WebSphere MQ V7.5 Explorer with Managed File Transfer
    components installed.

    Platforms affected:
Linux on x86, Windows, Linux on x86-64

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When the Managed File Transfer view is loaded within WebSphere
MQ Explorer, persisted user data is read in from the
application's metadata directory. If the metadata files were
created using a different timezone locale to the timezone locale
currently in use by the application, this resulted in a naming
mismatch when updating internal state from the persisted
files. This mismatch resulted in the NullPointerException
described above when the application attempted to determine
the column order for the view based on the persisted data.

Problem conclusion

  • The Managed File Transfer components for WebSphere MQ
Explorer, and the WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition V7.0.4
plug-in for MQ Explorer, have been updated to account for
changes in user timezone when processing the persisted metadata.
