IBM Support

Selecting to export files referenced by objects can produce an export with some missing file(s) on the IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA appliance.

Troubleshooting

Problem

I have a configuration that references a file (like a stylesheet) and that file imports or includes other files; however, when I try to export my configuration using the 'Export files referenced by selected objects' option, only the files referenced by my configuration object(s) are exported and the files referenced by the import or include statements are missing.

Cause

When exporting a configuration, DataPower does not parse the files (like WSDLs, stylesheets, schemas, etc) referenced by the objects being exported to see what other file(s) are referenced so those can also be included in the export.

Resolving The Problem

If all the referenced files are in the local directory, then on the 'Export Configuration' page, the 'Export all local files' option can be used so all the files in the local directory are included in the export. Another approach may be to generate a domain export using the 'Create a backup of one or more application domains' option but this will cause all the configuration objects and files in the domain to be exported.
