APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A virtual system pattern containing 9 virtual machines was
stopped. Only 8 of the 9 virtual machines changed to the
stopping state.

The Workload Console logs contained the following message:
app.scripts.groovy.rainmaker.instances.InstanceUpdateWorkflow.gr
oovy  Number of VMs to stop: 8

Local fix

Problem summary


    

  • An error condition was found in the code where a null value
for a universal unique identifier was being processed as a
stopped virtual machine. As a result the wrong number of
total virtual machines was being processed.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Code checks have been put in place to protect against the null
value universal unique identifier being processed.
