    APC adds servers to the failed server start list if they fail
    to start. APC does not reattempt to start servers in this
    list.  Servers on the failed server start list must be
    manually started by an administrator.  However, this can lead
    to extended periods of time during which a server is removed
    from the available pool of resources.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes were made that enable APC to retry servers that
    failed to start after a configurable period of time.  By
    default, failed servers are removed from the list after
    60 minutes.  The APC custom property
    "APC.XD.failedServerTimePeriod" can be used to adjust the
    failed server retry time period. The value specified for this
    custom property indicates how long, in minutes, APC waits
    before retrying a failed server.
    
    For WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Version 6.1, this code change
    will be included in the next available service pack.
    For WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Version 7.0, this code change
    is targeted for Fix Pack 7.0.0.3.
    For WebSphere Application Server Version 8.5, this code change
    is targeted for Fix Pack 8.5.0.1.
