Up and running with IMS Enterprise Suite SOAP Gateway on z/OS
This document provides an installation roadmap that highlights the required skills and the key installation and configuration tasks for installing IBM® IMS™ Enterprise Suite Version 1.1 SOAP Gateway on the z/OS® platform.
IMS™ Enterprise Suite Version 1.1 SOAP Gateway is a web service solution that enables IMS applications to interoperate outside of the IMS environment through the SOAP protocol. However, the team that needs the business solutions provided by SOAP Gateway on the z/OS platform might not be system programmers, and might not be aware of the Program Directory for IMS Enterprise Suite Version 1.1, the PSP bucket with crucial installation information, or the required skills for product installation on the z/OS platform in general. System programmers, on the other hand, might not be familiar with SOAP Gateway, or the term “fix packs” that are used to refer to subsequent releases for bug fixes and feature enhancements.
The goal of this document is to provide a complete picture of the installation process so you can more easily communicate among your team and secure the required materials and skills to install SOAP Gateway up to Fix Pack 3. The document covers the key installation and configuration tasks. It ends with the startup of the SOAP Gateway server, and a successful run of the SOAP Gateway Installation Verification Program (IVP) to verify that the SOAP Gateway is able to communicate to IMS. Additional information about the next steps is provided.
