Error description

  • The DSN6SPRM macro increases SRTPOOL settings of 9999 or less to

increase only settings of 239 or less (to 240).

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
The SRTPOOL subsystem parameter (which resides in the DSN6SPRM
parameter) specifies the amount of storage in kilobytes that is
needed for the sort pool. The valid range of settings is 240 to
128000. By design, DSN6SPRM is supposed to increase SRTPOOL
settings that are smaller than 240 to 240 and reduce settings
that are larger than 128000 to 128000. Currently, an error in
DSN6SPRM causes it to increase settings smaller than 10000 to
    10000.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR corrects DSN6SPRM so that SRTPOOL settings between
240 and 9999 are honored, and values less than 240 are increased
    to 240.
