Error description

  • When doing REBIND PLAN with PKLIST option, the storage for the
    package list is not properly freed. This causes too many PKGL
    blocks in BIND POOL leading high ECSA usage.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When doing REBIND PLAN with PKLIST option, the storage obtained
    for the package list specified in the option is not properly
    freed after rebind. This leaves unused storage blocks in BIND
    POOL after REBIND is done which leads to high ECSA usage.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 has been fixed to free the PKGL storage after REBIND PLAN.
