Fieldreach Mobile Work and Asset Management for Maximo
The core capability of the Fieldreach solution is to support Work and Asset Management business processes in the field through the use of mobile technology. Fieldreach allows organisations to distribute work order and asset data from Maximo directly to the devices of assigned field technicians. Using the Fieldreach mobile software on the field workers are able to • Review detailed job information, update job status and capture job closure information. • Display detailed asset information linked to a job. Carry out searches of the asset hierarchy and apply updates to individual equipment items within the hierarchy. • Display asset location information through a map view • Present historical results for selected assets • Update job status from the field • Capture detailed job related inspection, condition or maintenance information The Fieldreach solution supports the requirement for mobile workers to be able to use the system when there is no available network coverage or data connection. All information is locally cached on the device and is synchronised with Maximo when network coverage is restored. Data captured by users during day to day operation of the system is synchronised initially to the Fieldreach backend server. Incoming field data can then flow directly to Maximo (via the Fieldreach Integration Services Adapter). If required Fieldreach also supports the ability for selected information to be reviewed and approved by back office staff (e.g. managers or supervisors) before it is used to Maximo. In addition to its core Work and Asset Management capabilities Fieldreach also incorporates a unique Mobile Business Process Orchestration engine which allows the solution to be tailored to meet the specific mobile business requirements of an organisation. This is achieved through the use of data collection templates (or “scripts”) which provide business users (as opposed to IT staff) with the ability to define, manage and deploy sophisticated data collection templates. When deployed to a mobile device the scripts are displayed on screen and are used to guide the user through the data collection process using a simple easy to use interface. Different script templates can be linked to each job type which ensures that the right information is always collected for each job.
