White Paper: Tivoli Provisioning Manager 220.127.116.11: A Case Study on Hardening Database Security
Tivoli Provisioning Manager 18.104.22.168 (TPM) is part of the IBM Service Management product suite. TPM relies on IBM DB2 as one of its database solutions. TPM is installed with DBADMIN privileges. It is very common to want to run an application with hardened DB2 security permissions. The following solution describes the steps of a case study on how to run TPM with the minimal set of DB2 permissions. In this case, a simple schema movement solution is not sufficient because the owner of the database objects will not change. This case study solved the problem by using the tools provided in the DB2 schema movement solution but keeping the schema name the same and using a newly created instance with a different owner.
