White Paper: IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager 5.1 A Disaster Recovery Customer Solution
High availability and disaster recovery (HADR) is a mechanism to ensure the functioning of a computer system in the event of specific failures. High Availability (HA) tends to focus on local site recovery in the event of hardware or software failures. Disaster Recovery (DR) tends to focus on remote site manual restoration mechanisms in the event of massive failure at the local site.
This document describes a Disaster Recovery solution implemented for a Tivoli Provisioning Manager (TPM) 5.1 customer. While the described solution was implemented for a specific customer, it is generic enough that other TPM customers may use a similar approach.
