This course is intended for service representatives or customers who perform problem isolation and repair actions on the Model 7042-CR4 Hardware Managemet Console (HMC) and the Model 7042-C06 Hardware Management Console (HMC). The HMC allows you to configure and manage IBM POWER6 and POWER5 systems.

The 7042-CR4 HMC is the rack-mounted model. The 7042-C06 HMC is the deskside model.

This course describes the function and specifications of the 7042-CR4 and 7042-C06 HMCs, illustrates the features of the 7042-CR4 and 7042-C06 HMCs, and provides service strategies for the 7042-CR4 and 7042-C06 HMCs.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to perform problem isolation and repairs on the Hardware Management Consoles.
