Manage Task Roles

When you create an HMC user, you must assign that user a task role. Each task role allows the user varying levels of access to tasks available on the HMC. There are five predefined roles:

  • super administrator
  • service representative
  • operator
  • product engineer
  • viewer

 

To modify an existing predefined user access task role or add a user access task role:

  1. From the Navigation Pane, select HMC Management.
  2. From the Work Pane, select Manage Task and Resource Roles.
  3. To modify a task role, select Task Roles. A list of currently defined roles is displayed.
  4. Highlight the targeted role and select Edit. The Modify Role window displays.
  5. Make your changes and click OK.

    Note: You cannot modify or remove a system defined object.
