Service Management Connectivity
Use the following
Service Management tasks to configure:
- Customer
userid registration with the IBM Electronic Services website that enables the
viewing of managed system and HMC data.
- Email notification
when serviceable events occur on the HMC or managed systems.
- Immediate
or Scheduled transmission of service information to IBM.
The Authorize User task allows you to associate your system
with a user ID and allows access to system information through the
Electronic Service Agent facility.
You must first register the userids you wish to use on the IBM Registration
website at http://www.ibm.com/account/profile.
These ids and the user initiating the request must have system administrator
authority.
Once an ID has been registered, use the Authorize User task to associate the user ID to the managed system:
- In the Navigation Pane, select Service Management.
- In the Work Pane, select Authorize User.
- Enter the
userid or userids previously registered above. You may send multiple
requests, if required, for more than two userids.
This registers
the users to use personalized Web functions that utilize information
collected by IBM Electronic Service Agent. Registration is for the
sending system only. Registration for endpoint systems
must be done via the Electronic Service Agent website.
Keep in mind
that user ID(s) that are registered will have administrator authority
on the IBM Electronic Services website to the sending system and all systems that
send information via this central system. |
