Sellegi ACT - Scaling your agile initiative 3.0

Tab navigation

In the world of agile methods, this situation is common: A company has developed software by using traditional methods for years. To stay competitive, they have started to use an Agile method like Scrum or Lean Kanban in a small project. The initial project is successful and they discover benefits such as higher quality software, shorter development time and increased customer satisfaction. Now they want to start scaling with larger projects and several teams and wonder if agile still is the approach to use.

Our answer is simple: absolutely!

We help you to focus on interconnected backlogs across the enterprise, the next release, its date and content in visual context. With the help of semantic integration in Sellegi ACT you can plan all activities from a continuous integration perspective, always know which feature you can currently release and which steps are left to deliver your customer’s favorite feature.

By visualizing an active rule based analysis of business value, risks and dependencies in system development, everyone is instantly and easily pointed to risks, conflicts and impact of change anywhere in the development flow. Product managers and system developers can see the impact of any change or addition to a project and finish projects on time, on budget and with secured content and quality.

  • + Business opportunity

With Sellegi ACT, a multi-team development project will finish sooner rather than later, since Sellegi ACT will help with the following:

    • Program and release planning. Information is collected from various sources in the enterprise and combined to focus on delivered value for the upcoming releases.
    • Team coordination. The project structure view gives all teams a common understanding of what the project should do. All teams work towards a common goal, know the current project status, feel that project progress is being made and know what remains to be done to finish the project.
    • Risk reduction. Sellegi ACT will actively monitor risks and inconsistencies in the release plan at an early stage, making it possible to take early preventive actions after a what-if analysis of the different alternatives.
    • Work distribution. Sellegi ACT helps to identify work that has to be done in sequence and work that can be done in parallel by different teams. With the overview from Sellegi ACT, it becomes easier to decide how work should be distributed among teams.
    • Focus on dependencies, especially between teams. Status is propagated along dependencies from work package to work package, as well as to other project model elements such as requirements, teams, builds and updated product parts.

  • + Competitive advantage

Agile development is made for change. In order to work, the decisions and authority has to be delegated to the people impacted most by these decisions. That means that the development teams have to be able to prioritize and select which work to do next. It does not mean that the teams can choose freely without constraint. The selections have to be made within the frame of the business needs and priorities. Often the development teams lack efficient insight into the business impact of their decisions. At the same time management often lacks insight into the consequences of decisions made on the technical plane.

This lack of insights leads to a late discovery of potential risks, delays and unnecessary work.
