Breakout Technology Award
This Award will be presented to an IBM Business Partner who offers a solution that delivers a game-changing user experience that leverages new technology introduced since Lotusphere 2009, including but not limited to, Lotus Notes/Domino, Symphony, Sametime, Quickr, and Connections. Submissions for this Award should extend business application functionality in new and creative ways that help achieve better business outcomes. Entries will be judged based on the overall business value they demonstrate, the extent to which these solutions leverage the new capabilities in each product, and the partner's ability to demonstrate how these enhancements boost end user and organizational effectiveness.
Best Industry Solution Award
This Award recognizes an outstanding industry-specific solution in the commercial or public sectors. Preference will be given to solutions that address business processes in Banking, Insurance, Electronics, Telecommunications, Retail, Government and Healthcare – although other industries will be considered. Nominated solution must be deployed and fully operational at a minimum of two distinct customer sites. Special consideration will be given to solutions that were developed for SMB (small to medium businesses with 100-1000 employees), those that resulted in a competitive win and/or leverage Web 2.0 capabilities.
Best Community Service Award
Formerly the Best Philanthropy Award, this category recognizes a Business Partner who has developed and deployed an effective solution for a not-for-profit, environmental or humanitarian effort or in support of broader civic participation.
Best WebSphere Portal or IBM Mashup Center Solution Award
This Award recognizes an outstanding solution that leverages IBM WebSphere® Portal software, IBM Accelerators for WebSphere Portal, Industry Toolkits, or IBM Mashup Center. Special consideration will be given to solutions that - provide significant business value - have resulted in a competitive win - were built on the WebSphere Portal Express, or leveraging the Portal NOW methodology offering, - were built with WebSphere Portlet Factory - position the customer to leverage SOA and/or Web 2.0 today or in the future - are deployed in more than one customer environment. Solutions may address dynamic internet, intranet, and/or extranet web environments.;At least one of the WebSphere Portal family of products (IBM WebSphere Portal Server, Enable, Extend, Express, and Portal on System z) or IBM Accelerators (Dashboard, Business Process, Content, Collaboration, Self Service, Learning, Enterprise Suite), Industry toolkits, or IBM Mashup Center must be included.
Best Unified Communications and Collaboration Solution Award
This award recognizes the solution that most effectively leverages Sametime services and open architecture to improve a strategic business process. This can take the form of enhancing the Sametime Connect client with context-sensitive content, executing a workflow in the Connect client, or surfacing Sametime services (ex. presence or location information) through other business applications. Submissions in this category will be judged on the business value they deliver, the extent of integration with other applications or solutions, and the ability to provide new capabilities or enhancements to the end user experience that would not have previously been possible.
Best End-User Solution Award
This category recognizes an exciting end-user application that delivers measurable business benefit to customers. Preference will be given to packaged solutions that have been installed in many customer sites. Solution can be built on any product in the Lotus and WebSphere family. Special consideration will be given to solutions that are delivered across rich, mobile and browser interfaces. Particular attention will also be given to solutions in the IBM Lotus and/or IBM WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalogs, and solutions that position the customer to leverage SOA today or in the future.
Best TOTAL Lotus Collaboration Solution Award
This Award recognizes a solution that most effectively leverages, combines and integrates multiple parts of the IBM Lotus portfolio, including IBM Lotus Notes and Domino (ideally 8.5.1), Alloy by IBM and SAP, Lotus Sametime, Lotus Quickr™, Lotus Forms, Lotus Connections, Lotus Foundations, LotusLive, WebSphere Portal, and IBM Mashup Center. Utilizing these products in an integrated solution maximizes the ability for people to share knowledge and skills across a variety of organizations and builds an unparalleled and robust collaborative solution. These solutions may incorporate a variety of capabilities: messaging, calendar and scheduling, instant messaging and presence awareness, Web conferences, team spaces, mash-ups, activities, blogs, social bookmarks, communities, electronic forms, and/or business process management. Special consideration to be given to solutions that integrate on-premise, SaaS and appliance offerings.
IBM Lotus Energy and Environment (Green) Award
Issues and opportunities around energy, the environment, and sustainability impact every business, worldwide. Multiple factors are driving businesses to explore alternative ways to address challenges with supply costs, regulatory mandates, global teams requiring collaboration, and customer demands for "greener" vendor credentials, to name a few -- while sustaining growth. IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal software can play a critical role in driving a smarter, greener business. This Award recognizes an outstanding IBM Lotus and/or WebSphere Portal software solution that enables customers to increase operational efficiency, employee productivity, and business profitability while reducing the customers' carbon foot prints. Special consideration will be given to those solutions that demonstrate measurable results with before and after scenarios.
Best IBM Lotus Marketing Award
This Award recognizes IBM Business Partners who execute outstanding and innovative marketing programs/campaigns that use video as a medium to convey the value of Lotus offerings and solutions. We're looking for short videos that showcase cool / funny / smart ways to use Lotus offerings and their capabilities. In order to be eligible, the video must: - Meet length guidelines: ideal is 90 seconds; maximum 3 minutes - Articulate the Business Partner's point of view on what Lotus knows, and describe how your company adds value to the solution - Be effective at generating customer demand; special consideration will be given to those who report results - Be posted on any video site on the Web. (Business Partners should complete and submit the Lotus Award nomination form, and include a link to their video on the Web.) - Additional instructions will be provided regarding posting videos (that meet eligibility requirements) on the ibm.com web site. Check back here for more details. Extra points will be given for creativity and humor. Business Partners are expected to create videos with appropriate content and in good taste. This Award will be presented to person that provides the best template, solution, widget or sample, made available via Open Source through OpenNTF.org. The offering must leverage new technology innovations introduced into the IBM Lotus® Notes and / or IBM Lotus Domino 8.X, such as XPages, Live Text, Application integration with the Sidebar, or mobilization of applications. Submissions for this Award should be solutions that leverage these new technologies to address a specific business need. Entries will be judged based on wow factor and completeness of solution (30%), innovation (10%), overall business value they demonstrate (30%), the extent to which these solutions leverage the technologies, and the ability to demonstrate how these enhancements boost end user and organizational effectiveness (30%). Special consideration will be given to developers new to the Notes and Domino development environment.
Best Open Source Contribution by a Business Partner
This Award will be presented to the business partner that provides the best commercial application made available via Open Source through OpenNTF.org. The offering must leverage new technology innovations introduced into the IBM Lotus® Notes and / or IBM Lotus Domino 8.X, such as XPages, Live Text, Application integration with the Sidebar, or mobilization of applications. Submissions for this Award should be solutions that leverage these new technologies to address a specific business need. Entries will be judged based on wow factor and completeness of solution (30%), innovation (10%), overall business value they demonstrate (30%), the extent to which these solutions leverage the technologies, and the ability to demonstrate how these enhancements boost end user and organizational effectiveness (30%). IBM Lotus VAD of the Year Award
This category recognizes a single IBM distributor that has demonstrated leadership in several key areas. The distributor will have grown their total Lotus revenue year to year, and executed innovative and effective marketing campaigns to drive demand for Lotus products. Additionally, this distributor will have expanded their Lotus and WebSphere business via targeted partner recruitment, partner skill development and utilization of IBM channel marketing programs. Special consideration will be given to those distributors that have leveraged Lotus and WebSphere Portal software to run their business.
Chief Technology Officer Award

The CTO Award recognizes those visionary IBM Business Partners who are leading the technology charge by exploiting Lotus' and WebSphere Portal's latest capabilities in innovative, leading-edge, and exciting new ways. These ground-breaking solutions are positioned to be drivers in tomorrow's new markets, fostering innovation, and at an ingenuity level that stands out above their peers. Special consideration will be given to first-time nominees. Final evaluation takes place at the Lotusphere® Showcase in Orlando, Florida.
Best in Lotusphere Showcase
(NOMINATIONS WILL OPEN DEC.1, 2009 and winner will be announced at Lotusphere '10)
This category recognizes an IBM Business Partner that has adopted and leveraged the latest Lotus (inclusive of WebSphere Portal) technologies, has made a significant investment in IBM and Lotus, and has an exhibit on the Showcase floor that demonstrates a fresh, unique and powerful solution that provides significant customer value. Special consideration will be given to solutions that are referenceable. Final evaluation takes place at the Lotusphere 2010 Conference Showcase in Orlando, Florida.
IBM Lotus New Frontier Award
This Award will be presented to an IBM Business Partner who is committed to growing business in the SMB (small and medium business with under 1,000 employees) space leveraging Lotus software solutions. Special consideration will be given to partners who have helped introduce Lotus solutions and build a presence in businesses of under 100 employees. Business Partner entries will be judged based on focus on Lotus software and this market. Entrants for this award will be judged on the overall focus of their business on the SMB market, end user placements in the SMB space, and the innovative deployment of Lotus solutions focused on the needs of SMB customers.
