Signing the contract for Bradford-i
Bradford Council has signed the contract with IBM for them to deliver the Council's Bradford-i programme.
The Bradford-i programme, underpinned by investment in new technology, is now set to forge ahead and will mean Bradford Council can better deliver its services.
IBM will be the main contractor which will transform Council services through new powerful equipment and improved planning and they will work with Serco Solutions, formerly ITNET, to run the day-to-day ICT service. The new equipment will make the processing of information about human resources, payroll, financial accounts, the procurement of services and management information much more efficient.
Leader of the Council, Coun Margaret Eaton, said: "Bradford-i will help the Council become more customer focused and make for better delivery of our corporate priorities. "We are sure that we can build on the support we give our communities and achieve higher customer satisfaction with our services to the district's residents."
Richard Jones, Public Sector Industry Leader from IBM said: "IBM is delighted to be selected by Bradford Council and looks forward to helping it achieve its goals of improved, efficient systems for Council personnel and enhanced service delivery to all its customers."
Bradford Council begins major transformation to improve customer service and efficiency
Bradford’s vision to be one of the best councils in Britain required greater focus on customers and improved efficiency in the delivery of services. A major transformation to IT infrastructure, systems and business processes was needed to support this vision.
Bradford and IBM entered into a 10-year Strategic Partnership. The Bradford-i transformation programme is already achieving significant business change in customer service and internal business processes.
