Energy and Low Carbon
The government has spelled out an ambitious new efficiency drive as it seeks to shore up the embattled economy and sow seeds for growth. The aim is to ramp up productivity and cut public spending by £81bn over four years. If essential front-line services are to be protected though, these productivity gains will have to come from supporting operational systems and infrastructure. Wasteful attitudes to energy efficiency must be reformed and organisations need to be able to find, monitor and measure waste. Organisation-wide assessments of energy use and carbon impact will be increasingly important if your organisation hopes to find the exact sources of waste and to formulate long-term and affordable strategies to stop it.
