Notes 8.5.3 delivers significant usability enhancements to support social
businesses and helps users get work done fast. Calendar and mail enhancements:
Auto processing, which automatically applies updates to meetings that
you have accepted as updates arrive
Counter proposals so that when you propose a new time for a meeting, you
can choose to leave a placeholder for the original meeting time on the calendar
Enhanced new mail notification, which provides a pop up preview of new
mail messages as they arrive
Notification to existing invitees when adding or removing attendees from
an existing meeting, informing them of the change and updating the invitee
list on their calendar invitation
Entitlement to IBM Connections Files and Profiles, for no additional
charge, allows you to tap into the knowledge of networks of professionals
with a single click. This helps users to quickly find skills within their
organization and to easily share content with other people and remove the
need to send large files through email.
Lotus Domino 8.5.3
provides greater platform flexibility and improved hardware efficiency through
expanded virtualization support.
Lotus Domino Designer
8.5.3 continues to deliver innovation for developers with enhancements focused
on performance and scalability and enhanced user experience. Improved XPages
support for industry-standard web application models makes it easier to bring
applications to mobile devices. Availability of a Domino Server trial makes it easy for
customers to try before they buy.
Notes Traveler support for Nokia Symbian 3 devices allows you to expand
the reach of the business to more devices. For Android users, additional Lotus Traveler
enhancements improve usability, performance, and deployment in the areas of
additional operating system support, calendar, mail, and deployment. The capability
to wipe only Lotus Traveler
Mail, Calendar, and Contact data from an Apple iOS device is also available.

Yesterday we have also announced IBM XWork Server. The new server is part of the IBM Lotus Domino 8.5.3 family, but with a
completely different licensing approach, different branding, and

Connect Client to make and receive voice and video calls.

Lite Client calls can be made to (or received from) any other phone,
a/v conferencing bridge, or video device that can be reached
via a SIP Trunk connection between the Sametime Media Manager and and
a SIP infrastructure*

Lite is very easy and quick.
Lite Features :
- Softphone : Users
can initiate and manage phone calls through their Sametime Client
embedded softphone using the computers built-in microphone and
speakers, a USB speakerphone, or a headset. Calls may be placed and
received by the softphone when properly configured with a certified
telephony, audio or video conferencing system.
Softphone User Features : The
software includes basic call control capabilities. Users can click to
call, dial through Quickfind or Dial Pad, phonebook and view call
history. Within a call a user can raise/lower volume, start/stop
video, leave call and mute/unmute. Moderator call controls include
mute one or all participants, lock call, invite others and end call

Deployment Process :
To deploy SUT Lite, you

A new killer feature is available within LotusLive : IBM Sametime Web Chat.

Introduction of the architectural concept :
To validate the feasibility, we have designed a mockup based on a J2EE Application. The web application send your location (longitude & latitude) to the server. If two location are received at the same time, the app will send an "IBM Connections" invitation to both, using the IBM Connections invitation APIs. In that mockup, the Web App uses HTML5 Geolocation API.

have instantly imagined the use of that technology for internal
social platform in conjunction with IBM Connections.

A few months ago, I wrote a little framework
making easy to write a bot for Sametime using the Python language syntax
instead of Java.
framework has continue to grow up, and this new version is now more
stable than the previous. Bots can now detect when the user close his
chat window, and they can also receive files.
framework can be very handy when you have to demonstrate Sametime in a

Genesys UC Connect facilitates the integration of Genesys Customer
Interaction Management (CIM) software platform with Lotus Sametime. The
integration helps bring knowledge workers from diverse departments and
the back office together into the contact center process flow on a
part-time basis without formally becoming a customer service agent. It
does this by intelligently routing calls based on presence, dynamic
location awareness (provided by Lotus Sametime), plus a host of
intelligent routing controls the Genesys software provides.
