If you're used to our Information Centers, you know one of the things that can be frustrating is bookmarking a topic so you can find it easily later.
Our new IBM Knowledge Center, currently in Beta, makes it a lot easier to return to information you work with quickly. Now you can bookmark a topic, a product page, a search query, and even product search filters--all without logging in to IBM Knowledge Center.
Because IBM Knowledge Center carries its search filter and location information in its URLs, this means you can easily share direct links to search queries or pages. Just copy and paste the URL and email it, tweet it, or blog it!
Newer browsers make this design even more attractive, because they allow the synchronization of bookmarks across multiple devices! Once you have your IBM Knowledge Center topics or searches bookmarked, you can get to them from your workstation, your tablet or your laptop.
Some quick examples:
An overall DB2 Linux, Unix and Windows product page with all the available versions, plus the search filter for the versions:
A direct link to DB2 Linux, Unix and Windows 10.5 only, along with the search filter for just that product version:
A search on "CREATE TABLE" in DB2 Linux, Unix and Windows 9.50 only:
Finally, a complex search example across multiple products.
A direct link to a search across DB2 Linux, Unix and Windows 10.5, Rational Application Developer 9.0 and WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5 on "create SQL queries deploy JDBC applications"
That last example might be a bit forced in terms of keywords, but you get the idea. With IBM Knowledge Center, you can quickly return to, or share, queries and product filters you use--even across products--just by bookmarking,
What if you're not using the latest browsers, and can't share bookmarks across your devices? Don't worry--by logging into IBM Knowledge Center with your IBM ID, you can save up to 10 search queries with keywords and search filters. Just log in and you're ready to go--whatever device you're using.
